Vintage Avon Jewelry
Vintage Avon jewelry isn't hard to find; what's more difficult is determining what's collectible. Let's take a look at some of Avon's vintage costume jewelry.
Avon Calling
Avon jewelry is fairly recent, as it started being offered in 1971. And since Avon still produces jewelry today, you see the difficulty.
There are some things to look for, from a collectability side, though. And the answer is to look for some of the jewelry produced by "guest designers".
Examples of some of the guest designers are Kenneth J. Lane, Elizabeth Taylor, Trifari and some others. You'll be able to tell from the marks listed below which ones are the most desireable.
Avon Marks
- "Avon" in all capital letters.
- "K.J.L. for Avon"
- "Barrera for Avon"
- "Elizabeth Taylor for Avon"
- "Louis Feraud for Avon"
- "Celia Sebiri for Avon"
- "Shaill Jhevari"
- "Coreen Simpson" (Royal Jewels of India Collection)
- "Seymmour M. Kent" (Precious Jewels Collection)
If the mark reads simply "Avon", make sure you like the piece of jewelry, as it probably isn't all that collectable. If you are looking for items that will go up in price the most, try the Kenneth Lane and Elizabeth Taylor pieces.
