B.S.K. Costume Jewelry
B.S.K. costume jewelry doesn't get enough respect, in my opinion. Sure, B.S.K. made medium-quality jewelry and aren't in the league of Weiss or Eisenberg. But they still made some lovely pieces that are worth collecting.
On the other hand, the fact that B.S.K. costume jewelry isn't highly sought after means that the prices are quite affordable! And this translates to more pieces of jewelry for your collection.
I found the piece shown in this post this past weekend. Before I turned it over to see if it had a signature, I was thinking maybe a Coro piece. To my delight, it proudly proclaimed B.S.K. for the mark! It's well-made, with amtique white enameled leaves and rhinestones in AB, rose and light yellow. The three large AB stones are set in a rose-type setting. Some of the other stones are also set in tiny floral settings. It's a very pretty piece.
A Little ABout B.S.K.
The name B.S.K. came from the three main owners of the company -- Benny Steinberg, Hy Slovitt and Kaslo (not sure if that is a first or last name). The jewelry was made between 1948 and the early 1980s.
B.S.K.'s claim to fame involves their "My Fair Lady" line of jewelry, which commemorates the movie by the same name. It's the most collectible of the B.S.K. jewelry.
The B.S.K. Marks
There are just two marks used by B.S.K. for their jewelry.
- B.S.K.
- B.S.K. My Fair Lady
Every piece I've ever seen has a copyright symbol, but that doesn't mean there might not be some without the copyright symbol floating around out there.

I’ve been rummaging through my collection of jewelry from mom/grandma/aunt – and found a lovely BSK gold curved leaf pin with 9 rhinestones on one side made to look like a leaf perhaps, and 7 on the other side of the gold, textured and scalloped and curled leaf. It’s going in a garage sale soon, but I have no idea what price I could put on it. It’s approximately 2 1/2 ” long. Quite lovely. Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Karis
Hi Karis,
I love BSK jewelry, but I’m afraid it isn’t a super-collectible, except for the “My Fair Lady” pieces. Nonetheless, I’ve been perusing the completed ebay auctions to get an idea of what some BSK pins have recently sold for. It appears that around $5 to $7 is the going rate for a BSK pin that is not from the My Fair Lady line.
Your pin sounds lovely! I hope it will find a home with someone who will wear it proudly (or will proudly keep it in their collection). Best wishes!
Gail
Hi. I have a B.S.K ladybird/bug pin with a green stone at back, and what looks like to be a fake pearl as a head. I see Gail said they are going for $5-7.00, just hoping mine might be a little bit more rare hopefully? Would love some advice please.
Hi Ben,
I don’t think you could get more unless you sold it yourself to someone local — B.S.K. is just not highly collectible, with the exception of the My Fair Lady series. $5 to $7 is about the going price on ebay. Sorry about that! (As an aside, I don’t know why BSK isn’t more collectible — I think their pieces are very nice.)
