Green and Gold Bracelet
Are you looking for a green and gold bracelet? It's wonderful at Christmas, what with two of the most popular colors around the holidays. Just add some red accents ane voila!
But when you think about it, green and gold are appropriate about any time of year. In the depths of Winter, a jewel-tone emerald color is perfect for the chilly weather.
Come Spring, peridot green is the color of the blossoming new earth. The hue is the young green of new leaves, while the gold is the return of the bright sunshine.
And Summer! A green with more of an aqua hue, the color of a tropical sea. The bright summer sun glints off the waves, looking like golden coins, lost by the mermaids.
When the cooler weather of Autumn comes the olive colors so appropriate to the season. Think of a deep olivine green, which coordinates beautifully with the gold.
So it doesn't matter the time of year; green and gold is appropriate anytime and anywhere. So enjoy!

Christmas Tree Pin Success!
When it comes to Christmas tree pins, they are a hot commodity. Not only year 'round, but especially it seems in October, November and December.
I mentioned in an earlier pin post that I really hadn't gotten into collecting Christmas tree pin costume jewelry, but that I was going to change that this year. Little did I realize how hot and heavy the bidding would be!
But after losing several auctions, I finally snagged the JJ Christmas tree pin with two cats that I have been wanting. I just think it's too cute! And you know, I wore it this weekend and got compliments wherever I went.
Oh, remember I was talking about costume jewelry books and book value? This is one case where the current cost is higher than what's listed in the book.
Art Christmas Tree Pin
Another pin I managed to get (finally) is a Christmas tree pin by Art. Since my friend Jennie got this pin as a gift in the late 60's or early 70's, I know the approximate date of when the pin was produced.
This pin is fairly available (not rare), but there was still some fierce bidding going on at times. I had lost several auctions for this Christmas tree pin by Art before I finally won one.
Eisenberg Tree
I also managed to win an auction for an Eisenberg Ice Christmas tree pin. Again, after losing a few auctions. It's not particularly old, but I really like the design. What can I say, I like glitter and sparkle!
What About a Pin for You?
If you like wearing Christmas jewelry and don't have much in the way of trees, maybe now is the time to start. I personally like the signed trees, but you should buy what you like.
So, here's a as well as a small sampling below. Have fun browsing!

Collectable Christmas Jewelry
It may seem a little early in the year to be talking about Christmas costume jewelry, but not really. You see, Christmas jewelry (especially Christmas tree pins) are collected year around.
Collecting Christmas Trees
I haven't gotten much into Christmas tree pins yet, but I know it won't be long before I succumb. Back in the mid-80's to mid-90's, I bought lots of contemporary Christmas pins, to wear in November and December. Sometimes I kept the pins, sometimes a stone fell out or I just decided I didn't like it and...bye-bye pin!
I'm a little more careful these days with my pins; you can see one to the right (and you can click to enlarge the photo). It's signed "Gerry's" and since it's relatively recent, it's not in high demand. Guess I'll have to wait a few more years for that. Meanwhile, I do think it's pretty, and it's in excellect condition. One day!
There are some beautiful and very collectable vintage Christmas tree pins out there. Most of the major manufacturers made them, and some like Beatrix really specialized in these little pieces of art.
Let's see, who else made some gorgeous pins? Weiss and Eisenberg certainly. JJ made some nice trees, as did Hollycraft, Art and Coro. Really, the list could go on and on.
It's never too soon (or in my case, too late) to start , be they trees, weaths, figures or something else that fits the holliday. Meanwhile, here are a few for you to peruse -- enjoy!
